In the early 1920s a group of pseudo-intellectuals planned how they could take over the Western world, and the U.S. in particular, establishing a communist form of government and economy. They developed a two-pronged attack which was brilliant.
The first thing they planned to do was takeover the movie industry. Though it was then in its very young stages, they recognized its powerful potential for shaping the minds of people. Leon Trotsky, one of the group, identified the power of the cinema when he said,
“This weapon, which cries out to be used for political propaganda, cuts into the memory and may be made a possible source of revenue to fund the revolution. We’re obliged to make amusement a weapon of collective education. The cinema competes with the church. This rivalry may become fatal for the church. The cinema liberates you from the need of crossing the church door. Here is an instrument that we must secure at all costs.”

Thus said Leon Trotsky, early 20th century Communist leader.
Vladimir Lenin, the Communist leader who established the Soviet Union in Russia, stated concerning the film-making industry:
“Of all the arts, the cinema is the most important to us for achieving dominion.”

This statement was carved on theaters in Russia throughout the Communist regime.
These Communist thinkers, many of which would come to the United States in the late 1920s, knew they could use the power of the cinema to teach us to think the way they wanted us to think. And with the church’s rejection of movies as a means to communicate truth, it left a vacuum which allowed the communists to walk right into our living rooms and snatch our children’s minds.
The second prong of their attack was to “dumb down” our children. That is they wanted to take away our ability to think from “root to fruit”; by this we mean they wanted to neutralize the Biblical reasoning ability which was deeply rooted in American culture because of our respect for the Bible as being the source of all truth. They planned to do this by infiltrating the public school system and gaining control of it. This can be seen in the writings of these communist philosophers in this Frankfurt School, as it was called. George Lukacs, one of their number, wrote:
"The very soul of the individual must be destroyed in its youth by disturbing it with evil, through forced schooling, and the media."

Have they been successful? Now that we have a communist thinker like Bill Ayers influencing the development of a national curriculum for public schools, you have to admit they have.
But the real “villain” in this story is---us; I refer to the church. Those of us who know Christ have been mostly asleep through this whole process. Only in recent years have larger numbers of us begun to wake up. We’ve been “watchmen” like the book of Ezekiel warns us about when it says,
“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him no warning...to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”
(Ezekiel 3:18)
You can’t teach what you don't know; and you can’t know what you don’t see. And when you don’t see, you live in darkness and death. “Dear Father God in heaven, please awaken us!!”
